Koh Tao Backpackers is in central Sairee, Koh Tao.

Koh Tao often spelt Ko Tao was discovered by backpackers many years ago and diving made Koh Tao a popular backpacker destination to get that essential scuba diving ticket checked off their list of things to do whilst travelling around the world.  Today though many resorts on Koh Tao are moving towards higher end holiday makers or only offering cheaper prices to those who are taking diving courses with them which is making Koh Tao a little too expensive for those on a backpacking budget, so that's why we set up Koh Tao Backpackers to offer cheaper hostel style accommodation for both divers and non divers alike.

Located in Sairee at the Silver Sands Resort, behind Davy Jones Locker Diving when coming from the beach, or if coming from the main road turn at El Gringo's Mexican resaurant.  Central Sairee is the place to be based no matter what you are looking for whilst you're on Koh Tao, be it beaches and relaxing, bars and nightlife or of course diving.  Koh Tao Backpackers is close to everything you'll need whilst here on Koh Tao and although we're centrally based our location is quiet at night as the pool bar closes by midnight and we're far enough away from the beach bars so the noise which effects many of the resorts in Sairee isn't a problem.

As we are based at Silver Sands Resort and are associated with Davy Jones Locker (DJL) Diving we have full access to the resort's swimming pool and use the bar restauarant as a comon area with movies available on request, be sure to check out the free BBQ and Pool Party every Friday evening from 7pm.  For anyone who is on a tight budget and sit in the bar we do also have a couple of stone tables and chairs outside the front of the hostel so you can make a trip to 7-11 to pick up some cheap drinks.
